A little about me calling it what it is...
Many people exiting the military struggle with finding a purpose after leaving the service or serving in other capacities. I was certainly one of those individuals. Deployments supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation New Dawn, and Operation Enduring Freedom left me looking for more… A purpose. For at least the past five years, my wife Katie, has insisted I needed a hobby. After discussions, ranting, raving, and a bit of nagging… I found my hobby. Handcrafted woodworking.
The name Wood Therapy is calling the business what it is - therapy for my unseen scars from war. Diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), I had struggled to find a service, provider, or activity that would relieve my stress and anxiety. Alas, woodworking was that outlet. Combining my two favorite actives - wood working and computer modeling.
To some this is a business that provides high quality custom made handcrafted wood gifts, decor, and accents. To me, this is my therapy… My Wood Therapy
